Prayer for Discernment
Today, O God of all days,
give me an experience of your heart.
Draw me deep into your very being,
into the core of your love for me, others, and the world.
Give me a glimpse of others the way you see them: loving them, forgiving them,
and delighting in the way they give glory to God
through their very existence.
Help me to discern out of that open place of deep affection so that I too might be a useful vessel of your love in the world.
Amen.
Prayer for Wisdom
Great is the wisdom of the Lord!
God Almighty, Your Wisdom includes
An understanding of what is fair,
What is logical, what is true,
What is right and what is lasting.
It mirrors Your pure intellect!
I entreat You to grant me such Wisdom,
That my labors may reflect Your insight.
Your Wisdom expands in Your creations,
Displaying complexity and multiplicity.
Your Wisdom is an eternity ahead of man.
May Your wisdom flourish forever!

An Act of Hope
O Lord God,
I hope by your grace for the pardon
of all my sins
and after life here to gain eternal happiness
because you have promised it
who are infinitely powerful, faithful, kind,
and merciful.
In this hope I intend to live and die.
Amen.
Prayer for Our Nation
God our Father, Giver of life, we entrust the United
States of America to Your loving care. You are the rock
on which this nation was founded. You alone are
the true source of our cherished rights to life, liberty
and the pursuit of happiness. Reclaim this land for
Your glory and dwell among Your people.
Send Your Spirit to touch the hearts of our nation’s
leaders. Open their minds to the great worth of human life and the responsibilities that accompany human freedom. Remind Your people that true happiness is rooted in seeking and doing Your will.
Through the intercession of Mary Immaculate,
Patroness of our land, grant us the courage to reject
the “culture of death.” Lead us into a new
era of life. We ask this through
Christ our Lord.

Prayer to Saints Peter and Paul – Solemnity Feast celebrated on June 29
O holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, I choose you this day and forever to be my special patrons and advocates; thee, Saint Peter, Prince of the Apostles, because thou art the Rock, upon which Almighty God hath built His Church; thee, Saint Paul, because thou wast fore-chosen by God as the Vessel of election and the Preacher of truth in the whole world. Obtain for me, I pray you, lively faith, firm hope, and burning love; complete detachment from myself, contempt of the world, patience in adversity, humility in prosperity, attention in prayer, purity of heart, a right intention in all my works, diligence in fulfilling the duties of my state of life, constancy in my resolutions, resignation to the will of God and perseverance in the grace of God even unto death; that so, by means of your intercession and your glorious merits, I may be able to overcome the temptations of the world, the flesh and the devil, and may be made worthy to appear before the chief and eternal Shepherd of souls, Jesus Christ, Who with the Father and the Holy Ghost liveth and reigneth for endless ages, to enjoy His presence and love Him forever. Prayer to St. Joseph for Fathers
St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste husband of Mary,
you passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty.
You supported the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands.
Kindly protect all the fathers who trustingly come to you.
You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes.They look to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor and weariness.
But amid the worries of material life your soul was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with God’s Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender Mother.
Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone. Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over him faithfully as you have done. Amen.

Almighty and merciful Father,
Who shows your love to all creation,
We come before you to ask for a quick control
of the Coronavirus currently ravaging our world.
Hear graciously the prayers we make
For those affected by the virus
In various parts of the world.
Grant healing to the sick,
Eternal life to the dead,
And consolation to the bereaved.
We pray that an effective medicine
to combat the sickness
be speedily found.
We pray for the relevant Governments
And health authorities
That they take appropriate steps
For the good of the people.
Look upon us in your mercy
And forgive us our failings.

O Mother of Jesus,
whose intercession strengthens the Church,
conserve, increase and make fruitful
this congregation at St. Francis Chapel.
O, Mary, you care for the brethren of your Son
with a mother’s love;
watch with maternal charity over all who
rejoice today to be part of this family.
Sustain our priests in their apostolate,
protect travelers on their journeys,
guide students who seek truth,
and be a bulwark for all the faithful
who gather at this chapel
in living out their vocations at home
and in the marketplace.
Blessed Mother,
who have already reached the perfection of grace,
mercifully pray for us
that by the merits of your Son
we shall increase in faith, hope and love
