St. Clement Shrine acts as a peaceful and beautiful place for our community to come and pray. To ensure the Shrine is functional for generations to come, the building requires regular maintenance and restoration.
The Charles Bolton Pipe Organ Builders of Norwood, MA, began work to restore our tracker organ. As you may know, the organ is over 120 years old. It was moved from St. Mary in Hull over 25 years ago and rebuilt in our choir loft.
During these last years, we completely restored the stained glass windows. This work required some hammer drilling, which caused a lot of dust to fall into the organ.
So, we need to clean the entire instrument. In addition to this, we need to restore old worn out tuners, graphite wooden sliders for all stops actions, replace brand new trackers, and a number of other repairs and maintenance tasks.
The entire project will cost us about $40,000. Please consider donating.
