Reflection From Deacon Paul Kallal, OMV

Br. Paul Kallal, OMV, was ordained to the order of Diaconate by Cardinal Sean O’Malley on June 8th at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, Massachusetts. Here are some thoughts and reflections from Deacon Paul on his ordination:

“What continues to stand out is an actual connection I now have with the words and event written in Acts 6:1-7, when the Apostles chose and laid hands on the first seven deacons of the Church.  Sacred Scripture has come alive for me in a brand new way.  It is a joy to be able to serve the Church as deacon; to proclaim the Gospel, to preach the Word of God, and serve at the altar of Christ.  Even more so, it is a grace to serve the People of God as a deacon in the Congregation of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. ”

Deacon Paul Kallal, OMV, currently serves in Boston, Massachusetts while continuing to study at St. John’s Seminary in Brighton.
