Reflection From Deacon Robert Andrew Soco, OMV

I’ve always dreamed of becoming a priest since I was around 9 years old during my First Holy Communion.

It was during college that I was able to meet a priest of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. I visited their community and was attracted by their devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, the Blessed Virgin Mary and their apostolate.

After completing my theological studies and training in Ignatian spirituality, I was assigned in two different schools as a campus minister, journeying with the members of the school community, especially the youth.

Having made my perpetual vows and diaconate ordination this November 2018, I look forward for ways God is calling me to serve, especially the young people.

My heart is filled with gratitude for the prayers and support of my family, friends, and you. We’ll continue to pray for each other. May God bless you abundantly today and always.

Congratulations from the Oblate community of Nice in France. May the Lord accompany you, Robert, to serve the people of God and announce His Infinite Mercy. The Virgin Mary will be close to you all the days of your life. With our fraternal prayer. Fr. Patrice Véraquin, omv
