Committed to bringing the message of Christ to the world, our dedicated young seminarians come to us to complete their formation and training as priests. To make sure these young men are able to fulfill their mission, we house a permanent, affordable and sound formation program in the Philippines and the United States.

With much gratitude for the work of the O.M.V. this donation is for the educational support of the seminarians. It is a blessing to be a part of financial provisions for the Kingdom of God on earth. God bless and protect you. Donor from California

As the number of seminarians increases, so do the needs of our seminaries in both countries. This mission allows us to continue to respond to God’s call as a congregation and bring the mercy of God and spiritual guidance to the world.

Establish a Permanent Seminary and Formation Center in the Philippines

After two decades of ministry in the Philippines, an urgent need for a permanent seminary and formation center to serve as a gateway for all of Asia emerged.

“Help the Church to go out to the existential peripheries, help her to be the fruitful mother by evangelizing.” Pope Francis

Collage of Seminary and Formation Center Progress

The new seminary complex is located in the highlands of Antipolo, Rizal Province, east of metro Manila. It will serve as the permanent home for the Oblate formation and ministry serving all of Asia. The campus includes:

  • Chapel: Space for worship and prayer
  • Seminary: Space for study and living quarters for twenty-five seminarians
  • Formation Center: Space for retreats, spiritual formation and conferences

Great progress is being made thanks to early support. The cost of construction and covering the operations of seminarian formation over the next 5 years is estimated at $2M.

Ensure Funding for Seminarian Formation in the United States

The Oblates’ growing and positive reputation as a religious community in the U.S. has led to an increase in seminarians. And the costs for seminarian housing, education, formation, and spiritual direction have increased accordingly, placing a burden on the limited financial resources of the congregation and its other ministries.

Seminarian Collage

Our Seminary Endowment Fund provides a portion of the financial resources required to meet the rising costs for the spiritual, intellectual and human formation of the seminarians at Our Lady of Grace Seminary in Boston. However, the endowment fund remains significantly underfunded.

We hope to raise $1.5 million for the Seminary Endowment Fund by 2020. These funds will supplement our expenses for seminarian formation, such as for the priestly ordination of Brother Paul Nguyen.

Progress Toward Seminarian Formation Funding

The Endowment Fund continues to grow! To date, $600K has been pledged specifically in support of the Seminary Endowment Fund.

In addition, many gifts to this appeal are planned gifts from those remembering the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in their wills and estate plans. Gifts like these can be an enduring legacy funding seminarian formation for years to come.

If you have remembered the Oblates of the Virgin Mary in your will, please let us know by contacting the Advancement Office at advancement@omvusa.org, or by calling 617-982-7257.
